Dear readers,

When my fiancé and I took a mini-vacation up to Vermont, I hadn’t expected to fall so completely
in love with the state—especially with the many beautiful wildflowers that line the roadsides at the
height of summer.

But by the time we drove past The Vermont Wildflower Farm on Route 7, I knew I had to set a
book in the area. My second romantic women’s fiction novel, It Happened One Night (Grand
Central Publishing, $6.99), combines my love of wildflowers with my love of all things Vermont!

Each chapter begins with a bit of wildflower folklore or trivia—all symbolic of the heroine’s journey
in some way—and there’s a nail-biter of an ending that has a hint of holiday flare.

The book is about two sisters who own a wildflower farm (not unlike Chris and Diana Borie’s
Vermont Wildflower Farm!). The heroine longs to travel the world, but when a lighthearted fling
leaves her expecting, she’s got to make big decisions about her family, her love life, and her
dreams. For help she turns to her best friend, meteorite hunter Eli Ward. But Eli’s keeping secrets
that change the course of their friendship forever.

Naturally, I stopped in at the Vermont Wildflower Farm to do a bit of research for It Happened
One Night. I bought books and gifts for my family, I strolled through the wildflower meadow, I
encountered some of the local wildlife…it was like walking through a dream.

The Wildflower Farm was such a compelling experience—relaxing and invigorating at the same
time. Diana was especially helpful in sharing some of the more amusing anecdotes of owning a
wildflower shop—some of which appear in It Happened One Night!

Before I wrote It Happened One Night, I’d taken wildflowers for granted. But now that I’ve seen
the beauty—I’d even say the poetry—of wildflowers, there’s no going back.

If you like wildflowers and you like stories of women’s personal growth and romance, I hope you’ll
buy a copy of It Happened One Night. The reviews have been tremendously positive! And if you
get a chance, do stop by the real Vermont Wildflower Farm. It’s definitely worth the trip!

Best wishes,
