Big Bluestem - Andropogon gerardii - This grass is used for erosion control in sand and gravel, mine spoils and roadsides. It also contributes to diversified biomass production; provides food and cover for wildlife and is a high quality livestock forage. It is commonly used for riverbanks, roadsides and meadows. Grows to 5-7' tall. Full sun, high drought tolerance, moderate salt tolerance. Blooms Aug - Oct and forms yellow seed heads and leafy foliage which turns to colorful hues of brown in winter.

Seeding Rate: 8-10lbs. per acre or if you used with wildflowers a ration of 5-50% grass seed with 50-95% wildflower seed.
