Purpletop - Tridens flavus - is a native warm season grass used for soil stabilization, areas that tolerate low-quality roadside soils; adding late season color to native landscapes; and providing food and cover for wildlife. You can find this grass all over the roadsides in late summer, and it is easily recognized by its loose, open, purple spikelets and distinctive weeping form. Growing to 4 feet tall
