Vernal Alfalfa - Medicago sativa This alfalfa is one of the oldest alfalfas. Planted as a cover or forage crop, it is winter hardy and drought tolerant. Being one of the older cultivars it yields high quality. It is a flowering perennial. Blooms June-July and produces its seed thereafter.

Seeding Rate: 15-20 lbs. per acre or 1 lb. per 1000 sq. ft. for small plantings.
